Guiding caregiving and end-of-life conversations, plans and programs

I am passionate about “meeting people where they are” especially during challenging life transitions such as caregiving, end of life, and bereavement. As an Aging Life Care Manager®, Family Caregiver Consultant and End-of-Life Doula, I offer coordination, guidance, and resources to support individuals and families in adapting to their changing healthcare needs as well as creating and facilitating informative and intimate conversations and workshops on care planning.

Engaging in conversations about death and dying is not easy and in many situations is not encouraged or welcomed but feared.  In an effort to provide safe spaces to tap in end-of-life conversations,  I am "drafting" a new narrative by combining my passions: craft beer and welcoming conversations around death and dying by starting Death over DraftsDeath over Drafts is a community event to spark curiosity & connection around death & dying and are happening across the country. Every Death over Drafts gathering has a different vibe based on who is co-crafting, aka hosting. While these gatherings provide an opportunity for those who serve in the end-of-life field to gather and reflect personally and professionally when you join us at a Death over Drafts gathering one thing is constant: all are welcome.

My diverse professional experience in the non-profit and Jewish sector includes managing community-based initiatives, advocacy, organizing, and fundraising. My extensive experience serving as CA Medical Outreach & Organizing Manager for Compassion & Choices, where I was part of the CA End of Life Option Act Campaign team that advocated and provided technical assistance to improve care and expand choice at end of life. In addition, I was the Program & Outreach Director for Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, where I oversaw operations, management and programming of two centers which supported family caregivers and individuals recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's and other memory impairment.

I currently serve as the LA Unit Chair of the Western Region of the Aging Life Care Association®and am a member of Valley Chevra Kadisha Leadership committee. I am also actively involved with various organizations dedicated to promoting end-of-life choices and providing support to seniors, including Compassion & Choices, Foundation for Senior Services, Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (CTAC), Reimagine, and Silent Book Club of Death.

My educational background includes Masters in Management specializing in Human Services and Masters in Jewish Communal Service from Brandeis University. I received my Bachelors at UC Riverside in Social Relations. I have also completed the University of Vermont End of Life Doula Professional certificate program and trained with Bridging Transitions

I pride myself on being an attentive, creative, and an empathetic professional who is able to bring levity and clarity to varied dynamic situations that desperately need them. I'm dedicated to empower people, identify needs and find solutions.
